Can I just say thanks to a couple of people (it is the Oscar sason after all)?
I'd like to thank Sherb for organising the CBG UK tee shirts. My tee shirt arrived within three days of being paid for. It's great, I only need somewhere to go to show it off, so if you the CBG UK tee shirt at any gigs or festivals please say hello.
The second person that I would like to thank is the timewaster that initially ordered the shirt and then after it had been ordered, didn't bother to pay for it. I can only say its his/her loss and my gain.
I would like to recomend that anyone who wants a shirt, should contact Sherb quickly.

Hey I had a great day out on Saturday. I was invited to the Pasion de Buena Vista show in York - a stage show of Cuban musicians, singers and dancers. The tour manager bought a cbg off me a while ago when he was organising the Joe Brown tour and offered me some tickets and a backstage tour. I got to meet some of the musicians, showed them a CBG and played it for them. They hardly spoke any English but we got by. Surprisingly, (seeing as most of the boxes come from Cuba) they had never seen or heard of them and were quite blown away with it. Nice bunch of lads. We got to see the show at night. What a brilliant day out. Fantastic how this CBG thingy has taken me down some interesting roads. I luv it, luv it, luv it.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO THE BRITS GROUP. I am sorry to advise you that we had a usurper in this Group. I was, of course, sworn to silence out of loyalty to my girlfriend, Lesley, but the time has now come to reveal the truth. The difficulty arose many years ago when her mother, unfortunately, married an American citizen and moved to the States. This of course meant that their daughter automatically became a US citizen at birth. I know 'it's not a pretty job and someone has to do it' but it was shame that such a fate befell my future life partner. Consequently she was forced to be economical with the truth when she applied for membership of “The Brits are coming” Group here on CBN.

However I am pleased to report that this paradox has now been rectified: yesterday Lesley received confirmation of the approval of her application for British Citizenship and is therefore now properly entitled to be a member of this Group on the Cigar Box Nation.

All that remains is for her to attend a citizenship ceremony which will be followed by a traditional feast of tripe and onions washed down with warm beer at the Red Lion.

Firstly thanks to those UK and American members who ordered T shirts and paid up promptly. As to the 8 members who failed pay or to reply or even answer the individual mailing......... well make up your own minds but I don't think I would be as genourous with my time and money again!

Rant over several people contacted me earlier to say they had missed the boat and would like a shirt so first come first served I have at least one of each size left.

Is it possible to look at older mailing on this site I seem only to be able to acess recent mailings so appologies to those who asked for a shirt if I had any left.

Ballymack, "Spoonful" and "Baby Please don't go" are a couple of blues songs I found easy to pick up.
