Just real old world turn of the century with the mechanical world technology. I have always been a steampunk since I was a young punk some 40 plus years ago. Guess it runs in the blood to have a diabolical sence of humor and the love of ancient inventions. Bringing totally different types of fashions together to create a unique tool with as ancient of devices to garner the simplicity of the tool. Its like the band I really enjoy to listen to while on the web, AbneyPark, a total SteamPunk group who do it up well. Its almost like a wave of life. Like ridding my chopper......the new build is going to be simple, but will try to incorporate the steampunk vision into its build. Maximo

steampunk art appeals to me for the same reason; the style itself speaks to me. I'm gonna agree with Shawn and say the mad scientist in me as well. It's dapper, its complex yet simple. The style is both scifi and fantasy; it's awesome in my opinion. the one question I have is...cigar box guitar's (the design we primarily use today) came about in 1840 which is roughly during the victorian era; so why would we have to mod and put cogs and gears and brass pipes on them when technically the design is already from that time period?

Hey Folks,

Had and idea the other night of trying to build a steampunk version of a CBG. So I hopped on tonight knowing at least one other person would have attempted turning a Nautilus into a CBG. I didn't know I would find a whole group. So where are you guys finding all the cool gears, sprockets and cogs etc?

Thanks

JD

Hi you lot.

This isn't exactly steam driven but I think this guy has certainly embraced the ideals of cogs, valves, pipes, oily rags, and sheer bloody ingenuity.

Saw him 'perform' with this contraption on a recent visit to Bath, UK.

Incredible!! Enjoy.
