Mine sounds quite well

Here - just a short test, recorded a month ago. Lousy quality and slightly on the dark/quiet side (some people still sleep at night...)

Mike, it takes practice to got the best sound from your fingers, keep at it.  One thing I do to cheat a little is mute the nut a little so it doesn't sound so much brighter than the fingered fretless strings, kind of evens things out so the whole song sounds decent. Just for the record I'm not a good player so keep that in mind when taking my advise.

just read this- took me a while to figure out when I started building, but if you are playing fretless, tune down. less tension on the string will make thinkgs much easier. Hope this helps,
