McGyver's secrets

I'm new here and new to CBG's & I'm bound to ask lots of stupid questions. I'm a fan of paying up front for things so here's a few tricks. Don't throw that busted cordless phone away until you take the handset apart, yep the speaker is a piezo/transducer. Amplified or non amplified computer speakers are a great (read cheap) source for cigar box amps. Hope this helps someone out....or gets 'em started scrounging. jkn

I tried to use a powered computer speaker for an amp however it did not have enough gain---only worked if I upped the gain with an overdrive pedal---thinking maybe of using two computer speaker amps in a slave/master combo to up the gain--anyone tried this?

thanks for the tip about the phones---any uses for old cell phones?
