We should plan some sort of meet-up for New England CBGers.
Leominster, MA here. Now I'm inspired to make a Patriots CBG.
Hey, just found this place. Looks like a good place to keep in touch with what's going on in NE. I'm in Bellingham, MA. just north of RI. Make a lot of junk from other junk but 3string CBG is what I haven't yet.Made tintar lap steels and 3 strings and stuff but I guess I am not looking hard enough for a cigar box.
Bluesheart I just remembered there's Boulter's in Somerville that carries exotic woods for boat building and the likes. That must be about 30 miles from you. Also some of the building supply near you may carry Ipe wood decking. That's pretty hard stuff you might want to check out a piece of that.
You have plenty of both on the North Shore but down on the Cape we only have HD......30 miles from my house. I have to drive another 30+ miles to get to a Lowes and thats having to go over the bridge to get off this sand dune. How do you feel about the prices and quality of the wood between the two? I always find a Lowes near to where I take my road trips.
Very glad to see that Lowes and Home Depot carry maple! Yipee. We only had oak and poplar or pine in VA. Looking forward to making some nice maple necks.
Thanks for having such a mild winter up here!! I'm loving New England!!
Hello Suspect, looking forward to seeing your builds.
Hey there. I'm from Maine, fairly new to the GBG world, but I am working on my 3rd git and just made a pile of neck blanks and fingerboards while waiting for more parts. Empty boxes are surprisingly cheap (often free) and easy to come by around here.
Yep , I can just about throw a botched cbg into Maine from here! Or New Hampshire. Welcome Corbie, hope to see you out sometime.
Amesbury, way north and way east of me, I do go by there on my way to Maine though.
