If you don't want to say exactly where you live, just say Northern, Southern, etc. I want to be abreast of any major gatherings...this summer is out, for me, but maybe next....

Welcome aboard Mark. I been a fan of CBG for close to two years. I have 6 buildsto my experience (4 CBGs, Two Diddly Bows & 2 canjos) and I still consider myself a beginner. But I can tell you this much; Cigar Box Nation is the best place to learn. And building a working CBG is easier then you think. Just follow the simple plans here at the Nation. It may not have all the "bells and whistles" but it'll help get your feet wet. I was guitar illiterate when I did my first build, but my son who does play was able to get some nice sound out of the first CBG. I say just jump in and start building.

Thanks for the invite, Chris! Sorry to say that right now I can barely play twinkle twinkle as well as Puff the Magic Dragon, but I will difinetly try to get down there and check it out. Where's it at exactly Corona. I have friends in that neck of the woods near the farmers market.

Dan we just recently had our first CBG night at my Open Mic night in Corona, its maybe like 30-40 mins from Bellflower down the 91. You should come down anytime and play. I'd like to get as many people as i can to come check out the open mic and perhaps plan a second event sometime in the future. We hold it Saturday nights at 6pm-10pm

Hi gang

Here to learn and connect with other CBG'er here in CA. I am in the Sacramento area and just found our about the CBG at a jam a friend was having at her house a couple weeks ago. It is a bunch that mainly plays the Native American Flute and I went just to make some noise with them. A guy showed me his homemade creation and called it a CBG, he started playing it and I was hooked.

I am going to build one soon but think I'll pick up a 3 string to start learning toplay on.

Recently finished my third CBG 3 string. But I mistakenly bought light strings (42, 30, 22) and they sound to high for my normal tuning of G-D-g. I was wondering if anyone has another sugestion for a better tuning useing light strings. Thanks.

Hello all! I'm in the LA area in a town called Bellflower not too far from the 91 and 405 fwys. Still refining my CBG building skills, but I can build 'em better then I play 'em. HAHA!

Cris, I'm in Lake Elsinore.  I'm something like 20 or 30 minutes south of the 91 along the 15.
