Howdy Folks,

Although I've been a member of CBG since Shane started it, I just discovered this group.  Is anyone else on here interested in a single string fiddle/violin?

Are you asking what angle to attach the neck, or how high it rises above the top of the box?

My youngest is 11 and she just finished her first year of orchestra- violin being her "weapon of choice". She has watched me build several cbg's, and then she saw some photos on here for the fiddles and wanted one. So I am building the equivalent of a 4/4 (full size). I kinda understand the measurements for the overall length and I have the parts, including a template for the shape of the neck. What I don't know is the following:

*Where do I line up the fingerboard when attaching it to the neck?

*Tuning peg holes? Any measurements to guide me?

Howdey

I play an array of Instruments from banjo to hurdy gurdy.
I picked up a Guitar Dulcimer 3 years ago and thought i would Make a cigar box version.
this went by the wayside and unfinished.
Then i discovered the Diddley Bow.
I finished the cigar box diddley 10-20-2011 with a Camel Snus resonator.
I will be putting a Transuducer in next and give it a wirl.
will post pictures soon.
I have also Just ordered a custome Cigar box Fiddle
with a Strum stick dulcimer neck from Blaine Horlocker who made my dulcimer.
He really likes a challenge. will send pics on that also.
