What's up guys? I live in the bay area and have been getting boxes, wood, etc ready to give this a whirl. I'm in the process of buying a house that will have a workshop so I can't wait! I'm loving this site so far for all the tips and advice but if there are any local groups i'd love to hear about those as well.

I've only learned about CNG today while reading Made By Hand written by Mark Frauenfelder Editor of Make Magazine. But I felt an attachment to CBGs from the first. I'm already planning to build one. Just need to get the supplies and figure out how to measure out the Frets.
I am currently living in San Diego California and am in the Navy.

All you California guys, keep your ears to the ground. I'm working on something big out here...

That is great advice and that is exactly what I will do. I am excited about the Fender Volume Tone Pedal. It doesnt need a battery and act like pots with out me having to install any.

This is alot of fun.

If you're 100% happy with how your guitar sounds now, don't change it. Having a pickup run straight to the jack is an absolute best case scenario as far as tone is concerned. Adding pots to the circuit will "color" the sound of the guitar away from true (true being defined in this case as what the real voice of the pickup is before anything is added on to the circuit). People typically don't care as they are willing to trade a little in for on board control. But I'm saying if it sounds the way you want it to now, leave it alone. Build another one with pots using the exact same type of pickup and compare the two.

You can listen to how it sounds at my web site.

I may still add a Volume and Tone knob. I already made a plate for them to match the pick up plate but then I found a volume and tone passive pedal from FENDER for 60 dollars brand new on ebay. I bought it and I am going to use that instead for now. Its like having my tone and volume pots on the floor.

My brothers who are both guitar players were shocked. They wanted to know how I got the intonation right and how i got the action right. This now my primary electric guitar. I am not changing this one. I am sure that I will build another one, but this one stays as it is. I was thinking of putting some holes in the top but no.
