hacking an old yamaha keyboard

Years ago i picked up a small electronic keyboard from a second-hand place. Never learned to play it, and bitten by the CBG bug, thought the speaker might be useful for a mini amp.

I opened up the keyboard body - it's got 6v battery input, or 12v dc input from the mains. the speaker is a 4ohm 0.8watt 4inch speaker, and the guts are mostly printed circuitry and big chips.

I've soldered some electronic kits up previously but that's the limit of my expertise. Have I got any chance of making something useful with what I have, or is it a non-starter?

0.8 watts is a bit low for an amp. Better to find one with more wattage.  4 or 8 ohms will depend on the amp you will be using. Mostly one or the other will be ok, but one will sound better if it's exactly what the amp needs.
