Just wondering if anyone tries to protect the paper covering, especially the borders/edges, on something like an A Fuente box.  I get the "mojo" of having some of it wear off with use, but I dont want the edges coming loose.  I've tried polycrilic, and it works OK, I guess, but I'm looking for something a little more stout.  Ideas?

I like using a little superglue along loose corners. Maybe add some metal corners.

I light coat of spray varnish would'nt hurt - just give it lots of time to dry.

i use water based matt varnish ,sticks down the loose bits and brings the colour up on an old box...

I reglue any loose paper with titebond and shoot a couple of coats of Zinnser Seal-Coat dewaxed shellac. Shellac sticks to just about anything and just about any paint will stick to shellac.

Hi,

i have the same problem... i tried spray varnish that's work pretty good after 3-4 applications but i'm about to try epoxy resin (for boats) => it has the same aspect but far more robust !

Will try it and tell you next,
