pick ups for LPG

I am about to begin my 3rd build. Which type of pick up would the forum recommend for a LPG, single coil or Peizo?

Until this last weekend, I was convinced that to sound good, a LPG needed a coil pickup of some kind.  Then I built this:  

I liked the plate so much that I could not bring myself to cut a slot in it.  So I added a piezo and acoustic strings... The result?
