  BTW, those are metal strings you're using that slide on, right? I've stuck to lightweight Banjo and Dulcimer strings on my Ukes so far-mainly because I can't tie nylon and nylgut to save my life!

Thanks.Yes they are metal strings-it is a magnetic pickup.i am using strings 2 - 5 of a REALLY cheap set of light gauge strings which works out on this short scale-430 mm.
