Hard to see in the pic but the bottom of the neck, that piece is attached to the bottom of the box inside, then the next piece on top goes in the box and stops just before the cone. I threw a thin piece of in between to bet the correct height I needed for the fret board height.  The piece of purpleheart on the cone edge was a prototype piezo disc pickup that I had done...worked great.

How does the box attach to the neck? What's the inside look like? It must not be able to go all the way through because of the resonator? Thanks!

I like that pickup idea. But I think I threw away all my disc piezos in a fit.
