Neck almost thru/ butt up end/ the string retainer side

Looking for a simple neck almost through cbg drawing. I'm looking for detail if possible on the string retainer area. I've never done that only all the way through.
I have a tune-o-matic saddle/bridge so maybe that will help. How does the butt end of the guitar rest on? How is it stay in place please? Thank you.

The bolt I'd actually too high along with the supporting wood underneath to keep th bolt from marring the box. Now I am thinking the whole bridge needs a re-thinking. What do you think of driftwood? Too soft ultimately ? Right now feels pretty sturdy and tough. Any other suggestions as other than bolts, redoak , poplar...that's all I got. There's alot of seem on bridge saddles on the Internet ...cool stuff...pretty technical. I'm also considering filing into to bolt itself or the supporting wood piece. Wish I had an old chopstick laying around ...
