I was wondering if any of you have tried this? ( Not CAD or to scale)

I put neck in the pic actually meaning on it 'inside' the box.

I make my own  rod bridges, much better sound !

Those are real purdy....are you saying that the rod piezos are more better and btw how come you need so many?

I hope you don't mind me saying but in my experience it seems you could be over-thinking a simple solution - just have one piezo under the bridge, one jack, no knobs....will sound great and save a lot of time...do we really need volume and tone controls on CBG's..? (-:

Well SST I'm and X electronics guy and still love to tinker. I think most would agree that every hobby costs money but this one is pretty dang cheap compared to my others and besides....for me, the building is the fun part on the majority of my projects. It's just the way I am.

Yes that will work, but your 'tone' knob is more of a blend knob :)

I agree TPK. Just can't find a knob imprinted with BLENDER or MIXER  ;<)

If I am reading your diagram correctly, the piezos are in series. No. These are super high impedance pickups and you do not want to make them additive. Going parallel will lower the impedance a bit.

As for a tone control, do a search on this site. There is a post of someone, and I am sorry, right now I forget who, experimenting and getting some positive results for passive tone control using 1 meg pots for both volume and control.

A better diagram would be two, piezos in parallel, each with a volume pot, coming to one tone control with a 1 meg pot.

An even better one would be two piezos in parallel with volume pots with on off switches, and no tone control, going to a preamp. The purpose of the preamp in this case being to lower the final impedance outmto the amp. No gain needed. Do the tone control aftermthe impedance drop, either at the preamp or directly at the amp.

I have built and few preamps and they do make a big difference in the sound. They prevent a lot of the signal clipping that most people complain about with disk piezos.

Hope this helps

am really a newbie and not electronic savoy at ALL.

could you diagram this on paper and specificly list the parts needed?

Taking a better look at your diagram. They do appear to be in parallel. Hookup at the tone was confusing me. Sorry for that.
Yes they are in parallel

Once you finish this build. I hope you will report back on how it works out. I have not found a big difference between your two placement locations, but a set up like this should certainly show what difference  there may be

I hope to breadboard it first if I can figure out how without a committed glue job. May have to go ahead and make it with a cheaper C. box. One post I read indicated the neck position gave a more muted tone than the bridge area. That's why I drew this setup. I'll post what ever results I get.
