Hi all, recently joined the growing CBG family.I've completed 2 three string models builds 1 of witch i just sold. my problem now, is i need to learn how to play! ive managed to learn 1 rift and one song from watching others play on YouTube without ever playing a guitar before. what i really want though, is to sit down with someone, so i can ask quesions, get tips etc. unfortunatly all the instructors ive contacted either dont play slide, never heard of CBG's or only want to teach classical style. Does anybody out there know of anyone living in the Kent area, England (Sevenoaks) who plays/owns a CBG who may be able to help? Thank a lot guys...... Regards David

I've had enquiries from all over the place about player's workshops..if we can get a few people together it's possible to arrange a workshop...here's a little video about the last one I ran.

Unfortunately my tuition DVD has had to wait a bit as I've got a lot of custom builds and touring to do..but there will be one forthcoming!

Hi CJ, wow what an excellent vid. R u doing any of these player workshops ln the Kent area in the near future.... id love to come along?

Regards David

Well..it's a fair step for me, but if we can get enough people, then it's do-able.  10-15 people would be good.  The best way is if someone local could find a suitable venue, then I can fit in with things. The one in the video was at my local church hall, but as long as there's enough space, light and heating, then pretty much anywhere will do...a pub back room/concert room for example.  Difficult to put a cost on it, but I've got the travel and room hire charges to cover, and it depends on how the numbers work out. Guitar workshop price by other players are typically £35 a 1/2 day session..this would be less! I think I charged £15 a head for the Birmingham one, as it literally was 1/2 mile from my front door...so with travel and room costs it's likely to be in the  £20-25 region.

Thanks CJ, sounds great but i may struggle to get that many people interested. Are u holding an event near you. I'm thinking i could crash in your neck of the woods for a day or two, and do it that way? what do you think???

David.....

Well, I've found that once I announce a date they tend to fill up pretty quickly, so I wouldn't worry about that aspect.
