I've got one of those Radio Havana pedals. It's pretty cool.
I'll see what I can come up with based on the present ideas.
Are we talking logo art or really bad distortion? Either way totally awesome for the help Robert!
Well this has been a good weekend for hunting. Just got an ARC Shoothsayer for under retail's $180 asking price! This better than a Rat clone should also be arriving Thurs.
I just figured out how to upload an MP3 file to a post. Now I can share sound samples.
The logo. I can't commit to sending proto-pedals back and forth.
Are you handy with a soldering iron? There might be some ideas over on the DIYStompboxes forums.
The speaker on my little Honeytone crapped out. This weekend I removed the speaker and hooked the speaker wires up to a 1/4" jack. So now it's -guitar into honeytone into amp-I believe there is the potential to wreck the amp, its much louder. Take a listen
Ron, Listened to you tube vids on that pedal. Man it's got some awesome sounds. Congrats on a great buy!
Jeff, That has an interesting sound to it. But I believe your right. I may have the potential to wreck your amp. I'm no electrician. Someone smarter than me will have to chime in and correct me if we're wrong.
Robert, can solder up cables and customize wiring in a guitar. That's about it. The dead battery sim was real easy to solder up. Three parts, a few wires and your done. I did manage to wire it up backwards.....
Sound sample time! This is my tele with Duncan quarter pounders in the neck position. First is the undistorted signal. Second sound is the Fulltone 70's at almost dropout using the dead battery sim.
The sound I get with the Crunchy Frog is almost identical.
If you can't hear the MP3 let me know and I'll try something different.
did anyone suggest using Piezo Disks pickup with your distortion pedals.
The ds-1 is probably the best selling box ever and for the price it should be you can put one in a cigar box amp they rock.
RTZGuitars. The only read difference a piezo disk has, besides the tone, is it's signal is weaker. I've found that when using a dirt box you get slightly less of what the box has to offer. The overall quality of the distortion is the same. I've played threw a hand full of CBGs at that blues club meeting we have here in ST. Louis. Along with the one CBG I've bought and the Swamp Witch guitar I won.
Wayfinder, I've heard a few of those multi effect boxes. I know a lot of folks like them. I'll check out your links. Thanks!
Wayfinder, Distortion is one of the most over used and misunderstood sounds out there. SOOO many players think more is better. Like thrash and heavy metal players. Most think you need everything all they way up. In truth, the pros don't play that way. If they did they're guitar would sound bad. Even most rock and roll players have the idea that more is better. It's not. Clarity is important for rhythm playing. Lead guitar playing is a different story. Then a fuller sound is a good thing.
Messing with sonic values of sound is fun. It's amazing how just a bit of processing can make a three or four note phrase sound different. You aught to try to create a song or two using different sounds Wayfinder. it opens up a whole new creative process.
It's like Christmas around here! Both the Boss DS-1 and ACR Soothsayer came in today! They're still warming up. I'll have to wait a few hours before playing with them.
OK, listened to the sound samples. Well, all the distortion is the same. Fuzzboy is just the distortion maxed out. The rest are a mix of different levels of 'Fuzzboy' and the clean guitar signal with different tone settings. If you listen closely you can hear the same rrrrrrrr or wave pattern. The clarity of the guitar itself is what changes. Not a bod little box. The effects are decent. Some are a bit tinny and harsh. But boosting the midrange at the amp would help clean that up. This might also be do to going directly from the box to the computer.
Be cool to hear what you can do with this Wayfinder.
