If you like please post a SHORT explanation of how you got the CBG building, playing addiction.
I had many guitar parts, maybe enough to build 5 or 6 guitars. While in a smoke shop that had a walk in humidor and I saw my first cohiba red dot box and bought it not for a guitar but a just a stash box.
Few days later at a large garage sale bought a guitar body with neck for $6. When I laid the guitar on the bench next to the box the light came on RTZ#1 . First guy to play it like it so I gave it to him.
Then I found this site while trying to put a Smoky Amp in a Acid box and learned about the 386chip. In 8 years I have built about 34 sting instruments with the help of ya'll thanks. RTZ

thanks Art, dulci was a bit of my finding the cbg world still have not built one
The amp bug is another one of my problems. always looking for better sound. as your playing progresses look at getting a small factory amp with effects you just cant build a amp cheap as they can with all the great sounds modeling can give you.
Good to know I'm not the only one. This and DIY effects pedals... Lets just say this one is a D-E-E-P rabbit hole.

Good grief Tim! Thanks a lot! LOL I could have gone the rest of my life not knowing this, I haven't finished my cbc or the revamped amp projects and you just had to dangle this carrot in front of me! Already I'm eyeballing the amp enclosure, thinking to myself "Do I have room for the electronics in there, hard wired in?" I was better off thinking this kind of thing was for the "smart" kids, but Nooo you just had to pull back the curtain on OZ! LOL Thanks for the link, I'll have to wear my "special" jacket a little while longer.
I think I can help a bit more ;-)
Electrosmash is particularly worth a visit as they reverse-engineered a bunch of commercial pedals. Some of them are quite simple when you actually look at the inside (especially the fuzz face).
LOL Just have to go there! Man you're all brutal. I feel like a kid in an ice cream shop. I felt the same way when I found 'Diesel place.com, the only difference is, I can afford this! I'll never ever build a stompbox though, the wife is already to kick my ass to the curb for the noise I make now! Thanks for the links.
You're very welcome.
You know how we always want to be "helpful" around here ;-D
Your thoughtfulness is overwhelming! LOL
On a serious note, how hard is it to build a channel loop( have no idea what it called) Where a few chords are recorded and played back in a loop, the something else is added and so on!
Guess I misunderstood what a stompbox was. I thought it was a wood box with a Piezo, switches and a cable to stomp your foot on for rhythm like in one of Puckett' videos.
sometimes guitat pedals have been called stomp boxes because you stomp on the switch to turn them on and off..
i currently have too many projects on the go but one of them is to refurbish an amp i have. it was a 30W transistor amp with a 10" speaker. amp died so i built a 20W amp kit for it and i am going to build in a digitech RP50 foot pedal. current slow up is i have to relocate 13 leds and get a new metal frame built. i have a new switch pcb made but these leds are not only indicators for editing efects but also the built in tuner... one of these days i will get around to finishing it..
It's still an effect in a little box that gets activated by your stomping foot either way. LOL
