On mine C is  for chromatic not cello. 

This is the most versatile setting  as it shows the closest note you are currently tuned to. You can tune almost any instrument to any pitch with this setting.

Could be worse. You could be working on a lap harp,  looking up the right measurement for the G string and forget to allow for space for pin and bridge spacing. That was my latest booboo if you don't count misplacing the soundhole reinforcement.
