i have just got hold of a ww2  metal ammo box, approx 14 x 10 x 10 inches and also have a 15w guitar amp. i was wondering if the ammo box would make a suitable amp box i plan to transfer the amp internals over and maybe add different knobs etc to match the military theme. are there any downsides to using a metal box??

The sound you get will be totally different with a metal carcass. Not necessarily bad, but it won't sound like the set up you have now. Remember to ground the box too. I say go for it if you aren't attached to the practice amp, it will look cool anyway!
All the best from Bill. :D

GO  FOR  IT  .  METAL  IS COOL  ;-)
