Yes, simple things first. Get a fret file, (has a concave surface), here: http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Fretting_supplies/Shaping_and_crowning/... . That will help keep the crown. Doesn't take much filing to get that pesky ol' buzz. Also look at the basic fret kit. Look at frets.com for great info on all kinds of building stuff. You can also get some sticky back tape, stick some on an ice cream stick, trim the paper to the stick edge, and gently file a little, following the contour of the fret. Put some tape on each side of the fret so you don't nick up the board. Also available from stewmac are some thin metal masks that allow the fret to peek through, yet protect the surrounding wood. Sometimes a buzz will come from lack of tension over the nut. If its not that raise the bridge or file them down is your only options. Also make sure its not the bridge buzzing by putting a piece of paper under the string. and this is a very old post so nevermind.
