Diddley Bow pick up
I've just discovered that security door electro magnets make good pickups! Maybe a little heavy for a cigar box based design but fine for a solid plank.

I got mine bcz it was scrapped at work,maybe I can find out where they get them from, bear in mind I am in the uk.
I've just got back from playing my diddley bow at my folk club's open mic. They loved it!
