It wasn't exactly a cigar box guitar. More than 40 years ago, I decided to make a banjo. I had been playing folk guitar for awhile and thought I knew enough to do this. The box was actually a circular aluminum cake pan. Didn't do much in the way of measuring, as I recall; didn't know any better. I bought a fretboard, tuners, a bridge, I think. Made the headstock and neck with common lumber. I bought metal rods to reinforce the joint between the neck and cake pan. Couldn't keep it in tune for one or more reasons. Essentially, it became a knicknack; I think my brother may still have it. A nice idea, but unplayable and, with the knowledge I had then, unfixable. Now, I'm back at it and enjoying a little success. We'll see what develops.

Thank you Robert for your comment. Actually, the people are usually quite interested and generous. When I have someone standing in front of me shooting a video, the audience tends to stay back. Enjoy.
