Component supply question for any of you that mess with electronics

As someone who tinkers with homemade amps and effects I often come across circuits that need JFETs - typically 2N5457s or J201s.  I went looking to re-stock my parts box recently and found that a number of suppliers (eg. Farnell, Maplin, RS, Rapid) were either just not stocking these things anymore or listing them as "out of stock" or "discontinued".

Have I missed something? Is this just a UK supply issue or are the big manufacturers stopping making these things?

Bitsbox has the 2N5457 http://www.bitsbox.co.uk/transistors.html in stock. A quick look on the www has a few postings that the J201s are getting hard to find but you can get them on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-J201-JFET-N-Channel-Amplifier-Transis... for only £1.16 for 2 or From the uk http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/x2-J201-N-Channel-Transistor-JFet-Fet-Aud... for £1.74 for 2

Thanks David, I'll check out Bitsbox. Interesting that you've seen other posts about difficulties with J201s.

Tony, I already tried Rapid but to no avail.
