On the humming issue, did you ground the strings?

As far as string height it's kinda personal preference really. Fretless isn't quite as important to dial in string height if it's a slide only git. Do you have a photo showing your string height you have now?

Welcome to the insanity Kev. Neat looking Git. The humming is usually a ground problem or a poor solder connection. Either that or it just doesn't know the words. What Maddog said on the string height. If it's fretless it really doesn't matter. have fun with your builds, I'm sure there are more in your future.

Thanks for your help guys ,,sorted out the ground problem ,,Heres a couple more photos,I'm really happy with how it sounds !!
