How did you learn about Cigar Box Nation?
From my friend LaurieLee, who inspired me to learn how to play a CBG.
How many instruments have you built so far?
About 30
What do you find most interesting about cigar box guitars? (If you do not enter something meaningful here (at least one sentence long), your membership may be rejected as a spam/bot fake account).
I was attracted by the idea of making a guitar out of "junk" because I build a lot of other things out of junk, and to have a simple instrument that even I might be able to play. As I have progressed I find it fun and challenging to play with the wood and decorate everything in an artsy fashion. I Love 'em !

Thanks for stopping by and for your lovely compliments.
I grew up spending a lot of time in my grandfathers shop where i learned all kinds of great stuff using simple hand tools. If it were up to me, i'd be in my shop working away all day, every day. Love it!

thanks for the comment profwaldo,on the hundred dollar cigar box build,i kinda like the old boxes more here lately-- it seems like i have several of them in a row lined up to build a cigar box guitar with them. my latest one is a wizard cigar box--still haven't got the neck and box together yet but when i do i think it will look and sound great.take care and thanks for the comment once again.
  • Strolling Tone

Thanks for your comment on my rendition of 'The Soul of a Man'. Such a great tune. And once again, I'd like to congratulate you for producing what I think is one of the most fantastic stringed instruments I'm ever likely to see. Absolutely outstanding - and massively inspiring. Cheers Wally!

  • JonBouye

Actually mom called me JonBoy a long time before the TV show aired. When I started on the internet in the 90's JonBoy was already taken as a username. I knew a lady from Louisianna with the last name Bouye that was pronounced Boy so I started using it. It works for me...lol.
