Welcome to the Brits! What a time to be joining...we are launching the Home Grown Music Collective and announcing the 3rd UK Cigar Box Guitar Festival this week.
Your guitar looks very nice.... well, dirty and nasty, but in a good kind of way. I bet it plays mean. Just as long as you're never tempted to read it. I've not built one with frets yet, not got the guts to try and fit them.
you need a cheap bandsaw to get the basic shape on the neck, spokeshave a good knife for carvin the neck cheap set of hole cutters and a drill, some clamps wood glue and your away, the most important thing is madness passion and a good solid wokbench and wood vice,i go round car boot sales buying up old tools that no one cares about and clean em up and use em, hope thats some help bro , just take your time and enjoy it best parts when its built and you strum it for the first time
the bowl is loose the pressure of the strings on the saddle holds it steady, try and look at the stewart macdonald website, find resonator cones and theres a how to set up your resonator cone on there, the cone sits on a ring with holes drilled in it but we dont need to get that bcarried away ha ha have a look
your more than welcome bro we re all here to help each other .thats why i always take loads of photos and post them on my page hope i can help keep in touch
Ah, toast with bacon drippings. Black pudding. Haggis (OK, that's not English). Jugged hare (The US may have unleashed MacDonald's on the world, but if they hung their meet for a week before serving, they'd get sued). Bovril. Marmite. Whatney's Red Barrel.
I lived over there 35 years ago, and I see things today in your average Waitrose that I would have KILLED for back then. My Mom would scold me (she'd gotten married in just post-war England) "You have no idea how bad it was under rationing!"
Today if I'm dining in London, I just go to Brick Lane or Leicester Sq. I developed a taste for good Indian cooking hard to please here in the US.
As for British Beer, I'm a devotee of Michael Jackson (the British one, of course!) The Campaign for Real Ale has turned 40; I've been a supporter for 35 years.
