andy not much time to send u a quick note but your idea of useing the conduit connectors may just be the answer to a problem im having i need a sharping ring in order to raise the tone of the strings a half tone(one at a time) if i use your idea and a T type bolt screwed into one of the many holes it should work for my needs too .......... so thank you thank you thank you ill let you know how it works out ps u do some great work keep on truckin bro
I like your 8 of spades logo for your headstock. And your workmanship is very nice. I envy your f holes too. I just got a tiny drum sander for my dremmel today. It's getting close to small enough for a large f hole. I'll be trying it.
hey bud steve wootten here aka.(lobo) quick question did you try my trick w the extensions for those rods ... an did it work for ya. by the way some nice work w your cbg's
Thanks so much for the compliment on Dead Flowers. We had fun doing that. I am looking over your guitars, and you do some beautiful work. Do you sell them and if so, do you have a link? Also, can I ask what you use at the end of the neck for the ball end of the strings? I have 3 cigar box guitars that my friend built for me. But we used earing backs for top where the strings come through the neck, and nothing on the bottom. I find that the ball end of the strings are working there way into the wood, and I don't think it will be easy to change the strings.
I was trying to get something in the 100 to 150 range, but I guess I am trying to get something a little more advanced than the 3 I have, and I didn't realize how much the CBGs can go for. I know they are worth it, there are some amazing builders here. More is just not in my budget right now. I only know I have to wait for just the right guitar, or have someone build it for me. I am trying to get a box that I used to have a CBG made from, but the builder sold it at a show I was doing. If I get it, I might try to find a builder that can use it for me. I do have a friend who builds custom guitars and dob ros, but not CBGs lol.
