Thank you Norman for your comments. Ya, my hall has some great asoucstics and the floor boards over the basement makes for some good percussion too. You asked "Is that a roll of solder..." Are you asking about my slide? It is a real bone slide made by Randy Bretz of Mojobone Works. I dig it. Not only does it offer great tone, but is gives a nice authentic look paired with a rustic CBG. Enjoy your practice, Keni Lee

Thank you again Norman. Of course, borrow what ever you need. It's funny, I started out just playing guitar...then busking on the NYC subway platforms...then I learned how to make videos for youtube...then I started teaching and  making instructional video CDs...selling on ebay...playing and vending at festivals. It is amazing where all this has lead. Always glad to make another CBN friend. Enjoy.

    Hi Norman Moody,

Check out this discussion group on CBN: Home Made Resonator Boxes 101

This discussion group talks about how to make your own wooden boxes to use as the sound box for your box guitar. I believe after you build a couple, you will come to realize that box building is not that hard to do, and you are not limited to the sizes and shapes of the cigar boxes you can find or buy off the Internet. You can make real simple boxes using what is known as a "butt joint" and back the joint up with "corner blocks" to create the box frame, then using thin plywood veneer, cut out and glue on the top sound board and bottom back board, Of course, before you glue on the last board, you will want to connect the neck to the box, be it a neck-thru or a bolt-on neck. After that, you can experiment building boxes with what is known as the "box joint" or "finger joint", which is what is commonly used on wooden cigar boxes. All this and more is discribed on the above mentioned discussion group.

    -Rand.
