2 very badly, but I've got at least 6 more from Shane Wagstaff at Rock Hill Guitars, he's the man
What do you find most interesting about cigar box guitars? (If you do not enter something meaningful here (at least one sentence long), your membership may be rejected as a spam/bot fake account).
their versatility and the way they enable someone like me with arthritic joints to get to some of the much more simplistic chords. I simply love the DGBE chord structure. I'm in the beginner/intermediate bracket and I just love the number of songs I can strum along to.
Sammy you may remember me I was the landlord at the avenue when Nocker opened our referb and I believ you was there as well.We often viseted you when you had the pub on the peer and I definatly not a red and white. My mother told me never to go over that bridge lol.I am doing the same ,this morning I have just finished mr fourth cbg a resonator.Willyou be going to the home grown do on the 1rst of october in west brom it sounds as though it could be good Mal
PS I remember some of your breath taking kicks you made, you gave us a lot of pleasure
Building is fun and not an exact art so you'll soon pick up the skills to make something playable. Lots of folk here to answer any questions. Once you've made one, your confidence will grow and you'll have learnt through some mistakes how to make a better one. Just ave fun
Hi Sammy nice to hear from you,yes I did treet myself with a couple of really nice guitars from chicken bone john.I have also made a couple of strum stick and my son made me a nice electric cbg for farthers day.Glad to hear you have had sucses with your ukulele you will definatly have to get a picture posted. At present I am making a dulcijo.I shall have to see how that turns out, just posted some pictures on my photo page showing the strum stick's and my farthers day presant chat soon Mal (Cum On You Hull)
Sammy my playing is about as good \as my singing rubish but I actuall find it easier on the strum stick, plus my emphercima gets the better of me a lot ofdays but I enjoy what I do.Mal
Thanks for the friend request. I'm really looking forward to hearing more of your playing, and of course seeing more of the dogs (Oh, and your instruments too).
Thank you Sammy for your kind and encouraging words. I guess it is like a carpenter and his hammering skills. If you do enough of it, over a long period of time, you can drive a nail in one shot. I guess it is true...practice makes perfect. I am definitely a work in progress. Enjoy.
Tks Sammy ,, trying to get t5his vidoing down .. I cut it off to make it fit the 1`00,b or whatrever the nations restricts too ,, if u go direct ,, gotta figure how to come in a side door so i can get songs on here ,,
UJ had turned me on to that ... that is the way i posted the swing low ... couldn t get the full version on just by straight uploading from comp to cigar box ,, limits it 100 mb
This CBU is amazing ! its my first build and i cant seem to get started on a new one cause i keep picking this up to play. I made in about 3 weeks time on and off. It is a Tenor Ukulele with 17" scale and 18 frets. 1-3/4" soundhole with pine neck and poplar fretboard. Open Gear tuners from Gitty and I used my Tempo Charango strings. Bone for saddle and Nut with a custom bridge.
Thank you Sammy for your comment. I am glad to hear you enjoyed my little performances. Now, please pass the poi. (On second thought...maybe not...LOL) Enjoy.
Thanks for the compliment. This is the third Uke I have built. No plans or guide on the web that I know of. I just kinda did it by trial and error. I can guide you through the process and answer any questions best I can. You need some wood working tools to start and alot of sanding.
Hi Sammy I was wondering how often you practice with your group,I would love to jam with you guys one time,I'm actallly useles but need an ascape at the moment before I lose the plot all together.I am expererincing really difficult times.I have proberbly told you about my sons wife leaving him and him getting on the wine,he has just come out of detox with great expence to our family but with great results,By the way in your message you mentioned a strum stick,if your interested I have the drawings of a brilliant one using a really using a really easy to make mould Regards Mal
Hi Sammy, thanks the great comment on the Glitsch. What I did was record the song on a small home studio, then filmed all the various parts along to my recording. I used windows movie maker to put it all together but being my first attempt it is a little out of synch. I'll get the hang of it in the end!!
Thank you Sammy. It was video taped using an iPhone. Then I changed the format using Windows Live Movie Maker and edited the footage using Pinnacle Movie Making Software. Enjoy the Summer.
Thanks for the kind words on my video. I will check out your tonight when I get off work. I see you are from Yorkshire, I was living on an army base right near there in 2010 jfow a few weeks of training before I went to camp Bastion in Afghanistan for a year with the british army. It is a very beautiful place when it is not raining. Anyways, thanks again....matt
Dag Sammy...where you been...thought James aliens took you off the face of the Earth...thanks for the kicks on Bury me Low....but I wasn't all that pleased wit it...like to hear you sing it sometime in you own sound and arrangement...I got your back...later brother
Hi Sammy, hey I wanted to tell you I record my vids singing and playing at the same time with the basic drum loop like a metronome so I can add any instrument later or add the rest of the drum fills. I use Presonus Studio one software. If you have never got into multi track recording it has become real easy on PC these days. I don't usually finish the drum loops for these vids as its time consuming so I only spend 10 to 20 minutes on the recordings.
This is a screenshot of the basic mixer lokks complicated but its not every thing is drag and drop.
Thanks Sammy! There are a lot of you Brits that are Born whit the Funny Gene, and you are surely one of them ! ! il check this Mick westwood out,i do like the lisning of it GREEETTSSSZZZ! A.D.
