i'm wanting to build a CBG, obviously.  i have read that quite a few people use a 1"x2" piece of wood for the neck for 2 and 3 string CBG's.  my question is this:  is that an actual 1"x2" measurment or is it the lumber yard nomenclature for for something that is actually 3/4"x 1 1/2"?  thanks so much, and holy cow am i learning a lot!  this place is great!

it plays!!!  woo hoo!!!!  still a few things i want to tweak, but it works and sounds good amplified as well!

If you want to lower your string height do it at the nut first, you could cut the slot for the bolt lower or even easier try a smaller diameter bolt to get it down some. Then lower the bridge a bit if you still need it lower.  Looks good so far.

it was fine up by the nut, but got gradually higher as you went toward the bridge.  i swapped out the hinge bridge for an eye bolt bridge and it's perfect.  i'm already planning the next build!!

Wow Looks Great nice job. Where did you get the roll pins for the holes in the tail piece? I also loved the idea of the cabinet hinge for a bridge. I am in the middle of my first build and hope that it looks as good, very nice job.

Nice work. More sophisticated than my first build. Or any of my subsequent builds, really.

Woody, you should be able to get the roll pins at Home Depot, if there's one nearby. That's where I go. They're in the aisle with the nuts & bolts, in a pull-out drawer labeled "Tension Pins." But I'd think any decent hardware store would have them.
