Hello everyone, and thanks for the invite NightOwl. I current live in Raleigh, and have just started my first build (3 string). It has been fun so far, but a bit tough without a workshop of any kind. Currently living in an apartment due to downsizing last year when the wife was laid off, and I was preparing for mine that ultimately came at the end of the year. Anyway we are now all employed again and looking to get back in a house. Hope to have sometime to complete the build soon and try it out.

Great news: Richard Johnston will be performing at the Carolina Blues Festival May 7. We can see a master of the Lowebow in Greensboro! Check out Piedmont Blues Society web site for more info. I can't wait!

Hey guys,

I'm new on here and I thought I'd better join my native state's group.

I'm from the mountains near Asheville, NC. Lived here all my life and if I have anything to say about it I'll be here when I die.

Any of you guys close to Asheville?

Beatle bass in progress ... gonna trade it somebody fer a banjo .... just gotta remember who .....

 

Hmmmm, I dunno why the first one is so small. But the 2nd shows the hard work. That is a successful THIRD attempt at a scroll-ish headstock.

Also, this is my first built bass ..... NOT gonna be my last. I see my horizons expanding.

Friday was our last day for hourly employees in the plant. Management will be there another month.

On the bright side, I free to get together with anyone for a while!
