I want to take a moment to welcome all those joining the revolution since I joined last month. I've spent most of my time working on my 1st build. And when I'm online I have spent most my time gleaning information from the previous posts. If I can help in anyway give me a shout.

Hello. My name is Cristiano. Born and living in the south of Brazil. Violin player since I was 5 years old and a rock n' roll lover. I made my fist cookie tin guitar 3 months ago and I'm learning to play (watch the video in my page). My next project is a CBG with a humbucker pick up. But I only have the box now. I'll post some pictures of my guitar soon.

hello to all Paul from down under in NZ here nearly got my latest guitar finished I made this from and old walnut piano, made a box and an Oregon neck, fitted 3 strings and a humbucker pickup looks amazing all im waiting for is some gold leaf logos to be done and shes ready for the photo shoot. will post on this site soon.

Howdy folks.

I went to visit a family friend recently....and propped in the corner was a "StrumStick".  I took a look at it and said....shoot...I could build that.  I'm in the middle of that build right now.

 

While searching for information on the "Stuck Dulcimer", I found this site.  Next thing on my list is a CBG.  I just wanted to thank all y'all for sharing all this good information.  I've been lurking for a couple of weeks, and decided to jump in.

 

I'm a intermediate level woodworker, so I'm familiar with, and own most of the tools I'll be needing.  I'm not much of a photographer, but I'll post some pics later on when I get started on the CBG.  I might even post a pic or two of the 3 string stick I'm working on now, if anybody's interested in seeing it.

Hey all, my friends call me MC. I'm from the good ol' mid west states, Cincinnati,or as I like to call it "The Nasty", Ohio. Been looking through the site for a couple o' months. Finally decided it was time to join up. I've built three diddly bows with in this past week, with one of them being a three string that needs some over haulen' already, will get some pics of them on here as soon as I can, maybe a vid or two. I also have a cbg I'm about to start workn' on. This is a first for me cause I normally play acoustic and electric guitar. I do my on electrical repairs on me electrics. With all that I'm also hacking an electric guitar that is still in the works. By the way this place is awesome and addictive, and has me turned on to Seasick Steve and others.

Hi y'all. I'm JonBouye from Geneva, Alabama. I'm a noob when it comes to CBG's, although a fan for a long time. After a month's worth of studying I decided to take the plunge. So I developed a design and ordered the parts. Hopefully they will be here by the weekend as my workbench will be cleared and I can get started on my 1st project. Thanks for the welcome everyone.

ha this clark and charlie. we just want to introduce are selves. we built are first guitar last year. named him frank. it sounds ok. we know what to do next time to make it better.we made the neck and fret board from scratch. wired a pick up we bought with tone and volume knobs used 38.cal. shell caseings for knobs. used a 303britt. round for string guide. it was a blast.

Lonman here, from Illinois. I have always been interested in guitar, played as a hobby for many, many years. Most recently (last 2 months) rekindled my interest in blues. Added to my cd collection of blues artists and have 2 books on history of. "nothin but the blues" and "chasin' that devil music, searching for the blues'. Was very interested in getting a resonator guitar and heard about cbg's, but when I came across this site, I no longer have the itch for a resonator. Thank you Shane and all you folks on this site. You all are a wealth of knowledge and I look forward to learning more and finishing my first build.

Hi All,

I got interested in building a CGB a couple of years ago but it seemed to simple to be true. This year I took the plunge and built my first 3 string fretless guitar. All the while my son watched quietly. To my suprise it was done in a couple of hours and it sounded great. Of couse my son who is a good guitar player had to take it for a spin.  By morning he built one for himself.

By the next weekend I was putting in fretts and a transducer. Good thing I ordered extra materials  because my son had his wired and fretted by morning. He's a night owl.

Since then I build a 4 string with a Strat pick up and a concert sized ukulele.

My son has been asking for a Ashbury or UBASS for about a year now so I want to try building a bass with the weed wacker strings next.

There is no end in site. The possabilities are limitless.

This site is great because it proves to my wife that I'm not the only lunatic with this obsession. 

Is there a support group for wives?

Hey all. My name is Erik..I live  in Florida and love playing blues guitar. I have seen the likes of Ben Prestage on stage and been interested in CBG ever since.

 

I own 1, and currently making 2. I will most likely give them to US Troops.
