The preamp itself is probably not frequency dependant. It just gives some gain and changes the impedance to match to the amp. It is a matter of whether the low end of the EQ cuts off the bass frequencies, even when wide open. Most simple tone controls cut from the top and have no effect on bass. I don't know what happens with an equilizer with bands of frequency. Best guess is that the lowest band has no lower limit and won't cut the bass.

Note that Gitty also has a jack mounted preamp without equilizer. You could try that with no on board tone control.

You need this rod bridge, made specially for a bass build. Thick bone saddle, Peruvian Walnut with bone insert, inlayed carved bone celtic crossover panel on each side.

You might look into a Ashbory bass preamp/pickup unit.
