For anyone in the uk, it is time to stock up on cookie tins.
Tesco has started building it's Xmas aisle. That means shortbread/cookie/chocolate/cracker tins all sorts of shapes and sizes.

I've just picked up an oblong cigar box sized shortbread tin with no lettering and a simple winter pine cone scene for £4gbp. Prices seem to range from £4-10GBP depending on what the tins contained.

Hi All.

Here's a very interesting canjo design I came across on Youtube.com: a 4-string ukulele that uses a large round can (maybe a fruit drink can?) built and well played by a Youtube member called "ackeim". The title is "Tin Can Ukulele! Wildwood Flower". It looks like a nice "can configuration" to experiment with.

He ("ackeim") also has some other nice videos on Youtube, including some of Ukulele clawhammer and finger picking techniques. If you are interested in ukes, then it is certainly worth a visit to see some of his videos.

-Rand.

P.S. I'm spending too much time on Youtube... I don't get it back home in China. Its one of many websites that always times out before you can view their website. Thanks to the... well I better not say. Don't want to loose access to this website.

The previous post by me is made as a simple statement of generalization about the marketing of created goods and is intended only to provoke thought.

"In commerce, the simplicity of a product's concept or creation, it's design, it's common use or usefulness, it's ease of duplication or reproduction, it’s demand for it by the consumer, or the desire by others to copy it does not make it justifiably accessible as public domain. The Frisbee started as a simple pie plate and the toothpick a sharp pointed twig."__ CJ*J 6/10

Hey Colin, my opinion is that the best ideas and builds come along like the works of a poet, formed like the carefully crafted word use of beautiful artistic self expression. Don't rush, but whenever your ready, I'm here to help. I look forward to your finished, functional 'can'cept as it's spilling musical notes out like beer from the tap...lol.

love those builds barefoot, the one with the griffins on it is cool lookin'. I have a build slowly forming on a keg-joe. John, I am still forming ideas, I just work slow on my builds.

Hi,
Is it safe? :)
I just got my CB Gitty cheap-o tuners in the mail. Very acceptable/versatile little critters at low cost and shipped fast.
The price belies the sturdy quality.
