Well this week's round of new products and updates at C. B. Gitty Crafter Supply is complete. Here is an overview of what we've been up to:

  • Added new Jumbo "Pyramid" nickel-silver fret wire, comparable to StewMac #158. Just a hair less crown width than standard jumbo wire, and with a unique pyramid shape to the profile with more of a point and sloping sides. Crown size is .110"W x .052"H.
  • Added new Jescar Jumbo Stainless Steel fret wire. This is a huge, hard fret wire, a whopping .110"W x .057"H in the crown. Great for larger builds like basses, also good for zero frets. Stainless is harder to work with but it lasts forever, and for those of you who do a lot of hammering and bending and really give your frets hell, this is the stuff.
  • Reduced price on Jescar Medium-gauge Stainless Steel fret wire. Buying direct from the manufacturer has allowed me to make a significant reduction in price - $3.00 per set! This medium-gauge wire is great for all sorts of things - guitars, CBGs, banjos, etc.

Browse on over to http://www.cbgitty.com today and check out the deals.

After posting my last update, I called up Jescar to place my order, and in the process thereof they managed to sell me on the idea of giving their Jumbo Stainless Steel wire a try. This is a massive .110" wide by .057" high wire, perfect for larger guitars and basses. It gives the fretboard a scalloped feel, which some players prefer. I will have this wire in hand tomorrow and will be adding it to my shop and eBay listings that same day. This wire would also make a great zero fret, or even a top ridge for a bridge.

Thanks Sam, it will go out tomorrow via USPS Priority Mail - you should have it in 2 or 3 days.

Later this week I will begin offering a new fretwire style, the Jumbo Pyramid! This 18% nickel-silver fretwire is equivalent to StewMac's #158, and offers a unique "pyramid" shape to the crown with a fine point and sloped sides. This fret wire is great for electric guitars and basses, and would also work well for larger CBGs, cigar box basses, etc. It can also be used as a good "0 fret" for CBGs, didleybows, dulcimers and more. As with all of my fretwire products, I will be offering this wire at well below what you would pay for the same amount direct from StewMac.

In other news, I will soon be able to offer my Stainless Steel fret wire a MUCH better prices, due to having worked out a deal with the manufacturer. You'll also be seeing a significant reduction in the cost of the gold fret wire I carry, and I hope to expand the sizes I am able to offer for both of these specialty wires as well. I have also placed a very large order with another manufacturer for the standard "medium/medium" nickel silver fretwire (same as StewMac #148), which is great for CBGs and will allow me to offer better prices on that wire, as well as offer bulk 1lb lots of it.

Browse on over to C. B. Gitty Crafter Supply today to stock up on all of your CBG fretwire needs!

Hey folks, just a note to let you know I now have fret wire available in one-pound bulk lots. This is 52 feet of fret wire in 12-inch lengths. It has a slight radius to it to help keep the ends down. This fret wire is equivalent to StewMac's #152 "Medium/Higher" wire, and you save $$$ buying direct from me, since my prices are lower than StewMac's. Browse on over to C. B. Gitty Crafter Supply and check it out.

Hey folks, just an update to let you know that I have (finally) added my new fret wire size/style. StewMac calls this stuff "Medium/Higher" (their #152), because it has a wider and higher crown than standard medium-gauge fret wire. This higher and wider crown allows for more dressings/recrownings between fret replacements, which means you get more life out of your frets. It is also pre-radiused on a 9" basis. Best of all, my price is HALF of what you'd pay for the same amount of it from StewMac direct, and that includes shipping. Click on over to my product page to check it out!

Nice snag, Sam! I actually do this with pawn shops that take in instruments that are broken. Once in a while, I land a real good one.... but most often I am buying them for parts....
