First Reso Build

I'm going to make Dog Bowl reso , the box is 2in deep inside so I've made the neck double thickness inside the box so it fits snug in the box , I've notched the top of the neck inside the box so the lid is free to vibrate , and cut out where the dog bowl is, I don't know what to do with the bottom of the neck inside of the box glue it to the base to make it stronger or just glue it on the ends and notch the rest a 1/8in so it's free to vibrate like the lid, so the question is does the base of the box play any part in the sound of the box , thanks for reading .

I'm experimenting with this one - parts bowl inverted - I'm embedding one disc on the front of the neck at the head end of the box and a second one on the back side of the neck at the tail end. I'll try that as I can always add a rod at a later time. I have recessed this parts tray about a 1/4" into the neck and will hold it down with a couple of pan head screws.
