anybody is welcome to try this challenge and we encourage you to participate, if not for any other reason except to see what you are capable of. there is no set style of guitar in this challenge, it could have as many strings as you want it to.as long as it has a string that vibrates and you can play a tune on it, it qualifies for this build. every body have a fun time. you should have plenty time to get your build completed. we are looking for most unusual if you can build it. but 1st place and 2nd place will be decided by the members.if we can do it we should put pictures or videos of each individual participants build on a page in itself for the challengers to enjoy. thanks everybody.

cant wait to see what the fader has in store for us.
Here Is my entry for the nonwood challenge. "HIGH Voltage" built from Electical parts. The eyes and sound hole light up as well as the toggle that turns them on. Just did the best I could with what I found lying around. ROCK ON ! I'll try to have a short sound vid tomorrow.

"THE WACKER"

This is my entry for the no wood challenge started by Bonehead. This is also the first musical anything, that I have ever built. Thanks Steve for the opportunity. I had a blast!!!
"THE WACKER"

Shot of the body. It is an air filter housing off of a Wacker "jumping jack" dirt compactor. The bridge is a piece of bamboo and a black corian piece shaped like a "parking block". The strings are held by a pocket clip from a Stanley tape measure I found at work. The string tension lifts the top part of the clip up enough that it can be used as a tremelo by pushing down or pulling up...... completely unplanned but cool!!!
"THE WACKER"

Carbonized bamboo flooring fret board.........20 frets on a 25 inch scale.
"THE WACKER"

The corian headstock with a Wacker logo, Wilkinson imperial tuners and a black corian nut.
"THE WACKER"

Back of the body is made from a 1/2 inch piece of corian.
"THE WACKER"

Top side, shot
"THE WACKER"

Back of the headstock / neck connection. Neck is made from 2, 3/4 inch EMT gorilla glued together and filled in with auto body filler.
"THE WACKER"

Another shot, of that wicked angle!
"THE WACKER"

I made the strap from some lumber banding I found at work. I painted it to match and riveted on some black leather.
"THE WACKER"

The "GUTS"...........Thank you to all the guys on the chat for answering my endless questions ! Thanks again Steve and everyone for the opportunity and the friendship.
