my sound system.. the crappy ex-hifi box is pimped with a jack, connected to the former cassette player head. The effect is weird - first the sound is low and gets spherically louder.

The Suitcase bears an 2x40W amp. It#s either run as guitar amp or as loudspeaker for the ex-hifi box.

and this one is another LM386 built into an old tin and I connected the screw lid to the pot for the gain control. Not a radio amp but thought you might like to see it.

Been on the Nation a few years but just found this group - wonderful, I feel like I've come home. Been messing with cigar box amps, circuit bending toys and other stuff. Love the idea of making cool old radios into amps. I made one from an old battered radio someone gave me. I just wired an LM386 amp into it and used some of the pots and speaker and it sounds good but I'm gonna have a go at using the exixting circuitry if I can find some radios. Here's a photo of the one I made

My old tube radio is a pity.. found out more about the circuit, the pot is under voltage! I'd better not risk an electric shock and watch out for a transistor radio...
