Hello Everyone!

  Name is John Hicks,..currently living in SW Florida for the last 3 years. From Tennessee originally, but spent time in Phoenix, AZ in mid 80;s,..then Seattle late 80's till late 90's, then back to Tennessee. Huge music fan, primarily early blues, country and honky tonk, real rockabilly, instro & surf, 60's garage rock and psychedelia, 70's hard rock, punk,..etc etc...I don't really listen to modern music so much.

  My Father's side of the family came down from the mountains of Western North Carolina, and were farmers who were also craftsmen on the side. They made wooden mountain style claw hammer banjos, and so constructing home made instruments is in my blood in some form. I have been checking out the whole CBG scene for a few years off and on, and decided to go ahead and make the plunge. I have some parts arriving soon to build my first, and I'm really looking forward to it.

  I love the way CBGs sound, and I'm looking forward building and playing my first. I will post photos when I can. Cheers to everyone!
