Hi Derek this is the router bit i was talking about you can see how much longer the shaft is even with the bearing fitted but you can also remove the bearing and collar i've added a link below where you can get one from - it's the cheapest place i've found there aint any on ebay i've checked let me know if you need anymore help with it juju.:-)

  • JUJU

Hi D good to hear you got sorted mate , i've used Frued and Trend bits for years and you get what you pay for - i still have them going strong some 12 years later :-)
    enjoy your routing bro
    juju.
  • JUJU

    Hi Derek
Have a look at this it also describes in the description how to work-out what size taper you need
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/13mm-Drill-Chuck-Morse-Taper-size-2-Lathe-Too...
  • JUJU

oh sorry i forgot to mention , fully extend your drill shaft by turning the Three handles , look at the shaft there should be a elongated slot ? turn the drill drive shaft by hand to align the inner Elongated slot yuo then use whats called a drill drift ( taperd bit of metal) which you insert in the elongated slot and tap it with a hammer this then ejects the taperd shaft - it's just possible that the taper size/s may be ground into the shaft !
    juju.
  • JUJU

Hi D this may explain about the Drill drift and the elongated slot i mentioned - see figure 8

  • JUJU

try and measure the short taper see if it's anything like this ?

The B16 is the Metric DIN taper number. The dimensions of the B16 "short taper" are 15.73mm taper to 14.50mm with a taper length of 24mm
  • JUJU

yes mate just got the pix - i would also say looking at the pictures the shaft looks about the same as the spec i gave you on the last message - if it is right look on ebay for Rdg tools he usually has a good selection of chucks ect
let me know if you have any problems finding one

    juju.

  • David L.

    Hi Hogs,
I have finally finished my resonator (pictures on my page) - I took longer than I thought I would because of a couple of bouts of man flu. Do you have any good links to playing slide guitar as I have yet to learn?
    Regards,
    David Lloyd
  • David L.

    Hi Hogs, Inside is here

4 piezo discs, 1 magnetic pickup, 1 x 3way switch, a soundwell that splits to get the cone in place from below and a big dollop of serious glue from Tescos. It will be a while before I can post any sound from it due to a big lack of talent (LOL). Regards, David

It was a 1watt kit, ive assembled it but not sure of where 9v, volume pot,on off switch etc..
should go or in which manner they are conected to each other (like i said im a numpty)
  • HOGS GRUNT

That's the one I got, put it all together, didn't bother with vol pot, and it worked a treat. I then decided to put in a jack socket to plug it into a cab and the bloody thing is playing up now and I cannot find WTF is going on. Put it down and will go back when I get the urge.
