    Are you looking for a fretted or slide build?  Fretted guitars aren't simple things, many of us have significant investments in tooling just to do it right.  

    Slide guitar's are an order of magnitude simpler, and with basic hand tools you can do it yourself.  If I add up the time it takes to buy and make fretboards, inlay, scarf necks and do all the work, a fretted guitar is probably 10-12 hours of work.  Making fretted guitars is still a time investment, but much much less, once you've made a few.  A few of us (including me) make kits, it wouldn't be much more effort to cut that box to fit to a kit and you'd have a slide guitar....   Do you have a few simple hand tools?  hand saw, screwdriver, etc ?
