If I was putting markers on the fingerboard face I would have done it before adding frets.I'm going to use 2mm plastic rod to mark the edge similar to this.
This cat bowl reso is a similar size and construction to the one I built using a proper cone/cover assembly.The quality of the sound is very similar but the cat bowl does not have the volume.Amplified the sound is quite close.For £3 the cat bowl is fantastic value for money if you don't want to spend a fortune on parts
