Thanks for the friend request and your kind words about my Mystery Train video. It was an arrangement I came up with on my own for 3 string CBG. There are a few good tutorials on you tube for 6 string but the trick is to figure out how to adapt those to CBG gits. I might have to put this on my list of tutorial requests.
Yup that Rat amp sounds great El84 valves, I got an old mullards in mine
add a little valve drive pedal and your away/ Blues driver is good with it too. The reverb sounds good.
Also see the Gear for music copy of the fender blues amp in blue £249,I got one on the bay for £100 a great little amp apart from the colour. Its a fender junior blues amp clone, i drive mine with a orange micro cube lol. the rat stuff has power scaling so you can turn it up but the output down so you still have neighbours. See my page I have tried most amps. In the end a 1x12 cab and any valve amp driven hard works for me :>)
if you want cheap a microcube works, i quite like the twin input version.
Also a digital tuneable fender mustang amp also gives you most sounds you could need. I have had the bug rat against one and you coukldt tell the difference on the right settings. But i love that warm fuzz.but RAT amps dont buzz or hiss at all, so you can record with them. Unlike the fender clones which are fine live.
A great gigging amp would also be a tiny terror combo but no reverb, but the fender clone has the reverb but a 10" not a 12"...so each to their own
For recording I use a line pod UX2 and acid pro, for lots of latency issues ! lol but it sounds greeeat.
hope this helps, go rat you cant go wrong but pricey

Yeah! Plus coordinating those hammer ons and pull offs with the alternating thumb is kind of a juggling act. Keep at it!
