Ha yall wanna hear me play! The easist thing to do then is to go out and find yourself a cat, snatch it up by the tail and beat it against a tree for awhile and yall will get a good earfull of my playing! I have only been seriously trying hard to play now for a very short while and progress is really slow. I am very enviable of your skill.

Hi Jim. I've been looking at the dulcimer you made for James O. I'm making one for Dulcimer Day in Duluth coming up May 5. I'll use two cigar boxes like yours. I like the 8 fret idea too. Wish me luck. .. Dave
  • Dave Lynas

Hi Jim. Now I've gone off in a different direction. I couldn't do a two box version. It just wasn't worth two wood boxes. I only have relics, no two of which are alike. There was no standard sizes. Each box is a little different. I don't have any twin boxes such as yours. I'm going with a box based on a boat shaped box "shelf". Curved sides like a boat. It will have a center brace with a cut out center to make a single chamber like yours.
  • Snuffy Smith

Yes, Jim, let's get together. I don't have my CBG yet though.

Hi Jim. I tried leaving my comment under the video, but it wouldn't let me. I tried several times with no luck. So... Here it is on your wall...¥
  • Dave Lynas

Ya, I like that tune. Seems like it is a factual event. Wreck of old 97, in modern times.

Jim hi, I'm still working on my starter kit «How can I play...» for cbg newbies: after a chapter «Playing scales with chords» I'm working on one about «Playing chords with common chord progressions». I like the kind of songs you play on your videos while they aren't those I'm used to liste to. May I ask you to check my list with common chord progressions to add one or another song from your play list? Have a good time, Moritz.

"Thanks for the demo. Is there much difference in volume and tone between the 2 p/u's?" - Jim.... tone wise, I think the 7.50 might be a lil darker.

  • jeffrey ross

    Hi Jim,

Its been a while since I have been here but I have been busy. Quick question. I have a customer who has bought three of my guitars and his wife plays violin and he is interested in a CB fiddle. 1) How much is one of yours? 2) How difficult are they to build? I don't think my knowledge base with violins/fiddle is strong enough to do a quality build that would meet the standard for selling one. Hope all is well,Jeff

  • jeffrey ross

    Well Jim,

Based on the number of variables involved I think I will forward your pricing info. I may try to do a fiddle build but would have to fine tune my skills before a sellable one is complete. My customer is looking for Christmas. What is your lead time and what info would you need?

    Thanks,

    Jeff

I don't have any time table on it, just at your leisure if you are interested.
