Supposedly there are "no rules", but in order to build one that sounds good... there are definite rules to follow. It's "a stick in a box" is what is said by most, but those who tout it as such (many of them) build beautiful instruments that are on-par with many commercially build instruments. Cigar Box Guitars can complicated for many of these reasons, but simple if you don't overthink them.

    thanks for the info...what kind of sound did you get from the TMNT lunchbox guitar...my kids think i am crazy because i bought a hannah montana lunchbox at a garage sale...want to make an amp or guitar out of it...what i would really like is a spongebob lunchbox guitar
