Welcome aboard, Robert! You will find lots of helpful folks and information here on all things CBG (CBU, CBB, etc.) Feel free to poke around, ask questions, and post your stuff (photos, recordings, videos, etc.).
Up in the Free Resources menu at the top, you will see a number of plans for building and playing cigar box guitars/ukuleles/banjos/dulcimers/violins. I encourage you to download any of the plans, take a look at them, and ask questions from there. Also our site is VERY searchable. I bet you your questions have already been asked, so take a few moments and look around.
Join our Chat sometime (see the bar at the bottom of your browser page). Keep in mind that tho the chat window says there are X number of people online, not all may have the chat window up.

Hi Robert,
Thanks for the friend's invitation. First time I got one, hope the acceptance came through. I like the Courier and Ives canjo. Pretty work. I had been looking for the right can and settled on an aluminum ammo box. Built it last weekend as a 4 banger and it sounds and plays nice.
Good to know there is another Iowan making and playing CBGs. People around here think I am the only one. I hope to have instruments for each grandkid that shows interest. My oldest grandchild is 14 and doing super on a storebought 6 string. :}
Good wishes. John Bolton, Harlan
Hi Bob,
Very nice on regarding your grandkids. I wish Lamoni was closer, I would like to meet and play some. Too far! I was looking at your photos. You are and advanced and high end builder using good materials. I am a bit of a hack.
I need to go back and fine tune/ finish some work and get back to playing instead of building.

Haha, yeah I noticed I'm already thinking about some other projects, but as I'm still just 15 years old, it's hard to get a little job to earn money for funding all this fun. So I guess I'll stick with being a paperboy for a while...
