Effects Pedals

Currently working on a few prototypes for some guitar effects pedals. I have my Fuzz pedal back from testing currently. Going to swap out transistors for something a bit hotter.

The current transistors are BC108. And I will be trying out some BC108C this time around. It is essentially a Fuzz Face with a few changes, and a whole different PCB layout.

I enjoy working on electronics. It is definitely a passion of mine! I have a couple more pedals that I have already built. And a bunch more that I would like to build!

If you have any questions feel free to ask!

Sockets & Trimpots are useful in mining the gold out of high gain transistors, especially FF circuits! I like to use 1% Resistors instead of standard ones in these kinds of circuits, they hold to their specs longer & operate with less noise.  Notice some Power filtering & Polarity protection in there, where’s the pcb from?

The PCB was made by OshPark in Oregon. Very good quality!

BC109B are sounding really good. But I have ordered some 10K and 50K trim pots to be able to bias better. Also may add another filter cap to smooth out the first stage transistor a smidge. Been busy with a small run on my first production pedal, "The Barn Burner Boost". It is a single transistor boost with a big ole knob! This is just the prototype. It will be painted and such for the "production model".

    I love it!

    Thank you 3 String Blues!

Nice. I've noticed most of the folks here are not super into tinkering with electronics. There are a few that love it like me, BrianQ, and a couple others. It's great to see this kinda stuff and let's face it... you can't go wrong with a 1 knob fuzz. I've made several.

BTW, beautiful wiring and soldering. That's artwork!

    Poorness Studios,

Awe shucks, I appreciate the kind words! I do try and do my best, even when you cannot see it. The one knob pedal is my "Barn Burner Boost". My fuzz that I am working on has the standard fuzz, and level knobs. I just got the trim pots yesterday to replace a couple of the resistors to be able to bias different transistors combos better. It is a work in progress for sure!

I have three new prototypes that I am currently working on. Wanting on another load of parts. Going to experiment with germanium diodes on at least one. So looking forward to that!

One of the new prototypes will be a hand wired proto-board, perfboard, what ever you wanna call it. So I will post some photos when I get it finished!

Nice clean work! I would like hear some demo clips.
