Yes yes.........very clever I'm glad you posted that info....thanks. Just got a few more boombox radios yesterday, one is just a darn good one but the other was relieved from it's case and put it in a cardboard box for later. I hope to put in some derelict wooden box when I find one.......funny thing I find more radios than boxes.

Hi papa....I just took the back off and where the slector knob was on the am fm afc section...i just clicked back and forth and when i saw where it was marked, i only cut that one wire and I left the AM still intack...then I follow that wire from the selctor to the volume and spliced the jack in line on the wire I cut...then the am was still wroking and the FM AFC was not and the guitar was in that side.

Sounds really good Beetllejuice. I'd love a tutorial on how to maintain the am or fm radio and hack only one for the amp.

I think I'd manage to kill myself reaching in that high powered thing!.....whoaa the pain....I am a batteries man....I dont know a thing about electricity other than its like "magic" from the wall.

PapaSimone.....   you caught me off guard with the smoke detector, very funny...... I was in the middle of a glass of wine and I nearly blew it out my nose. I must take more care when I read these post.

It was a given to my wife by her grandmother so it's strictly off limits. I like to tease her and say one morning you'll come down stairs and I'll be playing my CBG through it.

That is a cool Philco. I remember a radio in our house like that when I was little. When I got to be a teenager I would rob the speakers out of them and wire them up to my radio. My Dad would yell " turn that thing down" but I couldn't hear  him.

Is this radio yours to mess with or are you teasing us?
