Hey Ladies, just checking in to see how yall are. I haven't seen any activity on this group in a while. Everybody got the spring fever---outside. Just an update on me---been working on my 2nd build between trips to drs.. Of course, I have ran into problems, but found the solution, now trying to hide the mistake. LOL Still learning which is an ongoing thing. I promise this build is going to be very colorful. I hope everyone likes it when it is finished. I will post some pics on my page which I have already posted the ongoing progress of it. If you have time, check it out. Later, Ladies.

thanks so much Leanna,...I sold many many years at fleas, shows, and the downturn came long ago,...had I the sense, I'd have run with the insider tip,,,that was the Japanese, who came in droves buying all sorts of stuff American for a good 20 years or so--exchange rates were great for them.....anyway,..it trickled in 98/99...that was the missed cue..I'm not savvy, --that was the time to act--. must never give up hope, but hunkering down is a great skill to have!..the swaps so expensive, I cannot afford the entry fees, anymore..are you on Etsy?.....it would be a great venue, if you are not yet. cost is low, I'm there with vintage clothes, sewing goods, and home decor--I don't sell much, but it is somewhere to "park" things, and have at least have a chance at a sale. ....I hope the summer finds income for many---my dad, two depressions, in one lifetime......I'm going to get his memories, on MP3..I'm sorry too, for your loss....we have the loved one, in memory and spirit, with us always. Tears are a great natural toxic waste removal system.

Hi Ladies....this one was enjoying spring in warrioress type fashion,......mowing almost knee high weed grass 3 hours straight Sunday (Church of the tall grass), a yearly rite, you truly know spring has sprung. My March had a very sad note. My mom, age 85 passed away, the 21st, of cancer, which was diagnosed a week prior. She had not been well, but we did not know exactly what it was--yes, it was a shock, so fast......her care was intensive leading up to the day, so life took a backseat. A true reminder to enjoy everyday, and tell the folks you love, that you love them......I had in hand the Uke much of March, it suited the times...light, soft, sweet. Cig Box building on hold till paperwork is accomplished, and more..my Dad will need extra love..., that's easy...easier than the paperwork, that's for sure!Lol,......blessings to you all....enjoy the lovely not too hot yet days........summer is right around the corner!

Hey Leanna, I think the Ladies are sleeping in, they hadn't noticed it is spring yet. It was a pretty day in S. Ga yesterday---I didn't work on my leg tanning, but I stayed outside, breathed the fresh pollen in the air while I worked on my 2nd build. It was a great day in the neighborhood. Now, the pollen has me hacking. It was fun working on my 2nd build---I was fully concentrated on the CBG. My cat found a black snake under the carport where I was working, and my dog was telling the news. After looking at it, it didn't looked to be poisen, so with a hoe, I throwed it in the bushes. The first time I didn't kill a snake---I don't like snakes, but this one was hiding his head---couldn't kill it. I have been watching alot of wildlife shows on tv where they release wild critters; it must be rubbing off on me. For the first time, I released a snake. Can u believe it? Lets hear from u Ladies---

Laurie Lee, that is funny. I don't think it would catch on. My thumb is fine. Can't wait until I can take this bandage off, it is cramping my style.
I am sorry to hear bout your Mom. It is sad to watch your parents to become feeble, and sick. My Daddy just had heart bypass surgery about three weeks ago. He is doing much better now. Mama is suffering from bursitis in her hips. She had surgery last year in one hip where they took out some bursa, but apparently not enough. She is not any better, really she is worse after the surgery. We are waiting till April for the dr. to go back in again if she doesn't get any better. She is just getting worse with it. I take care of her---doing stuff for her, taking her to the drs, and etc.. I have two brothers who are in charge of taking care of Daddy.
I bet you don't have any help, do you? When it is one on one, it does take up your time. I hope the best for you and your Mom.

OH MY,.......!!!bloody cigar box guitars,..I dunno if that will catch on, be a fashion trend orselling point or not......LOL..I DID enjoy the story, and hope the recovery period allows time to hatch new ideas:-) I once grated my fingertip into a huge coleslaw,...never went to the DR,...but I did bleed like I should have,,,that does not make me tougher than Dianne and Clint,....
(just stupid)the key word ,,heheh .....funny, I was just watching Clint Eastwood yesterday on Telly...forgot how gosh darn handsome the young Clint was..my my MY!......Sometime I will hafta share one of my favorite injury stories......Diane, I was very relieved after reading SCROLL SAW to read the word CUT and not SEVERED!!!!!!!!! My mom's health slipped about a month ago, my life is pre-ordained i suppose.......means more one on one care...less time for all things folly like........much love to the ladies of CBN...Xos, and Dianne,...heal quick! Hey Skeesix, thanks for the advice. I thought I was being safe. I guess I was concentrating on what direction I wanted the blade to go in, I forgot about my fingers. Next time I will use a longer piece of wood, and not cut to the end. You are right, I do need all my fingers for playing.
Comment by Skeesix on March 5, 2010 at 2:33am
Please be safe with your power tools. Don't get your fingers close to the blade. If you have to do a cut on a small piece, attach it to a larger piece or use a push stick.

Think about what you're going to do before you do it. Don't operate machinery when you're tired or having problems concentrating. Don't wear long sleeves or jewelry that can get caught in a machine. Wear eye and ear protection and a mask if there's dust.

We need to keep all of our fingers for playing!

Hey Ladies, Where are yall? Just wanted to know I have a scroll saw now. Apparently, I have not got the hang of it yet, cause yesterday I sawed my thumb. I drove myself to the dr.,told them I think I need a bandaid. They said with that much blood, I think you need more than that, and they laughed. After the dr. looked at it, he said, the question is whether to deaded it or not. I said, don't---the shot is worst than the cut. He put two stitches in my thumb without numbing it. He said we are doing it like Clint Eastwood, except you are not drunk. I said, I don't have a stick to put in mouth either. We laughed about it. I thought yall might enjoy the story. It is true.
I did it while trying to cut a design on a sample piece of wood for my second build. I think I need more practice---what do yall think? LOL
